Crown Care Planned and Completed by Dr. Wyman Chen

Dr. Wyman Chen combines a conservative treatment philosophy with advanced restorative technology. Before recommending a crown, he examines the tooth, evaluates how it fits into your bite, and determines whether a same-day restoration is appropriate.

Dr. Chen earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with honors from the University of Utah. He is also a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry and a graduate of Spear Education. His postgraduate training supports his detailed approach to restorative care, from preparing the tooth to checking the final fit.

Our office completes most procedures in-house. This allows Dr. Chen to oversee each stage of an applicable same-day crown rather than sending the restoration to an outside laboratory. Learn more when you meet our dental team.

A Patient’s Experience with Our Thoughtful Care

Brissa Lira came to May Creek Dental Studio after her sister recommended the practice. She had postponed crown and cosmetic treatment because of dental anxiety but felt comfortable moving forward after contacting Dr. Chen.
“My sister referred me here, and I’m so glad I took her advice. I had been putting off several crowns and cosmetic dental work because of anxiety. After hearing how well my sister’s appointments had gone, I decided to call Dr. Chen and I’m so grateful I did.”

What Renton Patients Say About May Creek Dental Studio

Patients often mention our gentle touch, thorough examinations, clear explanations, and comfortable approach to dentistry.

One-Visit Crown Care Near You in Renton

Our Renton office is conveniently located at 1717 NE 44th Street, Suite A, near Exit 7, I-405, and the VMAC. We welcome patients seeking same-day crown care from Renton, Newcastle, South Bellevue, Mercer Island, and surrounding Eastside communities.

For patients balancing work, family responsibilities, and travel along I-405, completing an applicable crown in one appointment can reduce the need to arrange a return visit. Digital impressions also eliminate the conventional impression step for applicable restorations.

Patients looking for a dentist in Renton can receive their examination, digital scan, crown design, in-office milling, and final placement at the same practice when same-day treatment is clinically appropriate.

Restorative Options Connected to Same-Day Crown Care

A same-day crown is one part of our restorative services. Dr. Chen considers the remaining tooth structure, the patient’s bite, and the type of damage before recommending a treatment.

Dental Crowns in Renton

Our dental crowns in Renton are planned to restore the shape, protection, and function of a tooth that needs more coverage than a filling can provide. When the tooth qualifies for CEREC treatment, its porcelain restoration may be completed in one appointment.

Emergency Dentist in Renton

A broken or chipped tooth may need prompt examination before the damage progresses. Our emergency dentist in Renton evaluates the tooth and determines whether a same-day crown or another treatment is appropriate.

Tooth Problems That May Require a Same-Day Crown

Not every damaged tooth needs the same treatment. We begin with an examination so Dr. Chen can determine how much healthy tooth structure remains and whether a crown is the right way to protect it.

Broken or Chipped Teeth

A crown may be considered when a broken or chipped tooth needs broader coverage and support. The examination helps determine whether the damage can be restored and whether same-day treatment is suitable.

Teeth with Large or Failing Restorations

When an existing restoration no longer provides sufficient protection, Dr. Chen evaluates the tooth and surrounding structure. A crown may be recommended when a smaller restoration would not provide the support needed.

Worn or Weakened Teeth

A worn or weakened tooth may affect chewing and the way the upper and lower teeth meet. Because Dr. Chen considers the patient’s bite as part of treatment planning, the restoration is designed within the broader function of the smile.

How CEREC Same-Day Crown Technology Works

CEREC technology brings the crown-design and fabrication process into our Renton office. For an applicable case, the appointment follows a streamlined sequence:
  • Dr. Chen examines and prepares the tooth.
  • A digital intraoral scanner captures the required tooth information.
  • The restoration is planned through a digital design process.
  • Our in-office CEREC milling machine creates the porcelain restoration.
  • Dr. Chen evaluates the crown’s fit before placement.

This process avoids conventional impressions and temporary restorations for applicable cases. It also allows the same dentist to oversee the treatment from the initial examination through the final placement.

A complete examination is still necessary. The condition and location of the tooth, the remaining tooth structure, and the patient’s bite help determine whether same-day treatment is appropriate.

Complimentary Ways to Discuss Your Crown Question

May Creek Dental Studio offers complimentary virtual or in-person consultations for general oral-health questions. This gives patients an opportunity to discuss a damaged tooth, learn what an examination may involve, and decide how to begin.

A consultation does not replace the clinical examination required to determine whether the tooth qualifies for a same-day crown.

Insurance and Financing for Crown Treatment

We are in network with many dental insurance plans, including Aetna, Ameritas, Delta Dental, Guardian, MetLife, Premera Blue Cross, Principal, and Regence Blue Shield. Coverage depends on the patient’s plan and clinical benefits, so our office can help verify applicable information before treatment.

Patients can also review our dental insurance and financing options. Cherry is our preferred third-party financing option, and monthly payment options may be available for qualified patients.

Questions Renton Patients Ask About Same-Day Crowns

These answers address common questions patients have before scheduling same-day crown treatment at our Renton office.

Can my crown really be completed in one Renton appointment?

Applicable porcelain restorations can be digitally scanned, designed, milled, and placed during one appointment. Dr. Chen must first examine the tooth to confirm that same-day treatment is suitable.
A temporary restoration is generally unnecessary when an applicable CEREC crown is completed and placed during the same appointment.
We use digital intraoral scanning for applicable CEREC restorations. This avoids conventional impression material during the same-day crown process.
The cost depends on the tooth, the treatment required, and the patient’s insurance benefits. We provide treatment-specific financial information after evaluating the tooth and can discuss available financing options.
Our office is at 1717 NE 44th Street, Suite A, Renton, WA 98056. We are near Exit 7, I-405, and the VMAC, with access for patients from Renton and nearby Eastside communities.
